The interactive educational program based on an Escape Room concept has been developed for all levels and years of (special) secondary education. Students discover the ‘Road to Freedom’ by stepping into the shoes of a soldier and experiencing unknown but vital operations that were necessary for the freedom we enjoy today!
Students not only learn about the history of the Second World War but also discover how exclusion, diversity & inclusion, and the influence of power played a significant role in it.

Visit with the school class
In one of the 5 missions, you help ‘Jimmy Spencer’, an 18-year-old African-American soldier, check cargo that had to be transported to the 3 million soldiers on the Western Front, and you learn why we know almost nothing about this crucial operation due to exclusion. You will also discover in the ‘War Room’ how decision-making worked among Allied leaders and the responsibilities they carried.
At the end of the visit, we give the students their own peace mission to apply in their own environment. A glass of lemonade and a treat are also provided. (Coffee/tea is tallied for the invoice.)

Tour in Army Trucks
Make it an unforgettable experience by letting the children take a tour in authentic WWII army trucks! After or before the museum visit, the children can hop in the back and join the tour in this rugged truck. There are two options for the tour: 20 minutes with one story along the way, or 30 minutes with two stories along the way. Both options include a stop at the very first WWII monument in the Netherlands, which happens to be located in Medemblik. During the 30-minute ride, we also stop at Radboud Castle.
Costs (incl. VAT)
The costs per truck (15 people) are €70 for a 20-minute ride and €90 for a 30-minute ride. Depending on the class size, 1, 2, or 3 trucks can be provided.

Paddling with WWII Assault Boats
The group is divided into small teams of 4-5 people. Everyone is provided with a WWII life jacket and a paddle. Your mission is a reconnaissance task in enemy territory. The group that returns the fastest and is the first to crank the WWII air raid siren on the quay wins! After the paddling race, a volunteer will lead an interactive discussion with the class comparing the experience to the ‘Waal Crossing’. (This activity lasts half an hour, of which the paddling takes about 10 minutes)
– Suitable for groups from 3 to 150 people.
Costs (incl. VAT)
– €5 per person.
